City Bees want to promote bees and beekeeping. Bees are under threat from mites, herbicides and pesticides & Sudden Colony Collapse.
To encourage more people to get involved and support our bees we have launched an
adopt a hive project. Designed for individuals, families, schools organisations
and businesses to 'adopt' a hive in one of our apiary sites from as little as £30 per year or you can have a hive in your own garden, school or workplace for £495* Terms &Conditions apply
All sponsor choices include a hive adoption certificate, 4 news letters about your hive/s during the spring, summer, autumn and winter, by email (or a hard copy if you prefer).
Also included is an optional supervised inspection visit to your hive, to see the bees working. (protective clothing provided, own Wellingtons required) Available on sponsorship 2 and above
Please note a hive in your garden is subject to finding a safe for people, secure and suitable location. It is also good to first talk to your neighbours.
You can 'Adopt a Hive' in one of our local Plymouth apiary sites, this will help us to continue to rescue swarms of bees and give them a permenant home, help with hive and maintenance costs and keep bees free from pests.

All our hives are Westcountry made from sustainably grown, red cedar and are British 'national' hives with either flat or gabled roofs.
Other types available on request.
Please note hives have to be checked every 8 -10 days for 7 months from the begining of March to the end of September, weather dependant. and then during the autumn and winter for feeding and varroa mite control.
Please note if sponsoring a hive/s in your own garden it is subject to finding a safe, secure and suitable location.
